Blockchain, IoT, and a $3.6 trillion infrastructure crisis

The decentralized nature of the technology creates a system which requires no approval from a single authority, and a ledger in which the blocks and transactions within the blocks created are auditable by anyone. Sending and storing the vast amounts of information created by the IoT becomes seamless and secure. Because the information sent is unable to be changed or redirected, potential threats to the infrastructure are decreased drastically. Single points of failure are eliminated and an overall more resilient ecosystem is created for IoT devices to run on.
I am not sure what you guys think about this, but I would love to hear back from smart minds on how this will actually play out in the future.
