We need more and more bandwidth to connect our increasingly powerful (and useful) mobile devices to the Internet. That means growing the backhaul networks to give more oomph to LTE networks of today and 5G networks of tomorrow. CableLabs has published a new approach – an improvement to the DOCSIS protocol to make it more useful for backhaul purposes. This is quite clever. If you are a broadband nerd like me, check this out and would love to know what you think.
