Bob Lutz: We are approaching the end of the automotive era.

Bob Lutz, an automotive industry legend in an article for Autonews has made a bold prediction: “Everyone will have 5 years to get their car off the road or sell it for scrap.” In case you were wondering, Lutz is “a former vice chairman and head of product development at General Motors” and was a senior executive at Ford, Chrysler, BMW, and Opel. I assume he knows a thing or two about cars. In this op-ed, he points out that we will soon travel “in standardized modules. The end state will be the fully autonomous module with no capability for the driver to exercise command.” Worth a read.
